SCATHING REVIEW OF FIRST HOLEgallery SHOW

"Eric Demetriou, the artist behind the aesthetically brutal A KANGAROO ATE MY CONCEPTUAL ARTWORK..It decays between the walls, has gone through an awful lot of research. He is very accurate (otherwise we would have witches all over the country and the world saying 'this is not a true representation of our religion'.) This is a true representation of Pre-natal, Post No-fi, Meta-Gothic extraconventionalism, the black arts, and black magic. And yet we have people that say this is merely fantasy and harmless for our children. Actually, what makes this more dangerous is that it is couched in fantasy language, and children's literature, and made to be humorous. It is beautifully installed, extremely provocative, and it just opens up children to want to have the next one. This is what is so harmful."

HOLE would like to thank everyone who attended the show tonight. Apologies for the lengthy queues, and those of you who were unable to view the exhibtion, your patience was much appreciated and we endeavour to put on more exciting exhibitions in the near future.

HOLE onlinegallery

After six months of nail biting anticipation from the boys who brought you gulagPROJECTS, and the Coppin St studios, it is with great honour that we bring you HOLE. This architectural gem, will be celebrating its grand opening on Sunday the 4th April 2010 at 5.30pm, and will feature works by established Melbourne artist Eric Demetriou.

PLAY GUITAR AS ENTHUSIASTICALLY AS POSSIBLE...

An 8 hour performance with the above title was attempted at the VCA sturt street window 25/03/10... However, after only 45 minutes, the abrupt shards of guitar chaos became to much for one disgruntled post grad student Ruth, and the plug was delicately pulled from the wall of the ever encouraging institution...

Full video/Audio evidence will be posted shortly.

Special thanks to Ruth.
